Ron Cesark and Lauren Brasco-founders, partners, parents. Ron brings his branding and marketing vision. Lauren brings her design, manufacturing, and apparel expertise. Together, creating this mom-and-pop business called Montauk Tackle Company.

Montauk Tackle Company was born from a simple idea: to celebrate everything great about the American outdoors through classical design, technical innovation, and American craftsmanship.

But before there was a business, there was a place. A lighthouse. A beach. A feeling.

September, 1992

I remember the two of us pulling up to Montauk Point for the first time on a crisp early September afternoon. Drove down the access road to False Bar. NYS beach pass in hand. Ready to explore. Pulled up to the water's edge. Another Jeep was already there. And the fish were too.

Bluefish blitzing the beach-pushing baitfish right up onto the shore. I'd never seen anything like it. I pulled on my waders and slipped into the water. Cast after cast, hooking into those saltwater piranhas chopping at everything near them.

I was hooked.

2 AM. Outgoing tide. Under the light.

No other place I'd rather be.

Every year, the fall run became a bigger part of our lives.

We started renting a house every September, October, and November. Airbnb before Airbnb existed. Every Friday night, we’d make our way out east.

There’s nothing like September on the east end of Long Island. No humidity. The ocean is the perfect temperature. The summer crowds are gone. We spent our days at Shagwong Point, Hither Hills, and all around the lighthouse. Our nights? Shagwong Inn. Trails End. Ruschmeyers. And John’s Pancake House for breakfast.

Trips to the IGA were mandatory. And if you needed a big pot to cook lobsters in, you made a quick drive to Cyril’s Fish House—we did, and he was one of a kind. Accommodating. Authentic. Montauk through and through.

September, 2000

Our oldest son was nine at the time. We were drifting along the south side in 60 feet of water, right off the radar tower. In our 23-foot Grady and catching 5- and 6-pounders all morning. Then his rod bent. An 11-pound fluke. He boated it. We weighed it in at Star Island. It still holds the small fry division IGFA world record, crazy.

We had great friends on board that day. The sun was out. The ocean was full of fish. September. Dry. Crisp. Perfect.

It was one of those magical Montauk days. The kind you remember forever. The kind that becomes part of your family's story.

WHY WE NAMED IT MONTAUK TACKLE COMPANY

Not because we make great fishing shirts.
But because Montauk taught us what matters.

TIME WELL SPENT

We wanted to build a brand that honored all of that.
Performance apparel that works as hard as the people who wear it.
Designed with intension. Made in America by people who care.
Built to last–not just seasons, but lifetimes.

Apparel worthy of the coastal life we live.

From Our Family to Yours

Montauk Tackle Company started as a mom-and-pop business at our kitchen table. It's grown, but it's still just us. Still family-owned. Still obsessed with getting the details right. We make apparel for people who live the coastal life—not the Instagram version, the real one. Early mornings. Long days. Sun, salt, and whatever the water throws at you. For people who value American-made because they understand what it means—jobs, communities, craft that doesn't cut corners. For people who'd rather own three great pieces than a closet full of stuff that falls apart. We're building this for you. And for us. Because the life we fell in love with in Montauk—the one shaped by tides, seasons, and time on the water—deserves apparel made the right way.
